Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha increased production by 18.9% in 2016

21 February 2017

Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha increased oil production by 18.9% in 2016 compared to the same period in 2015, the production volume ammounted  to 1.1mmt.

Positive trend was supported by implementation of horizontal drilling program with a record-long horizontal spans (up to 1250m), activation of new wells, performance of efficient geotechnical activities and by choosing the optimal regime of ground infrastructure operation.

In 2016 Srednebotuobinskoye field activated 32 new wells and drilled more than 135,500 m  of rock, daily production volume increased to more than 3,000 t . By the implementation of exploitation drilling program the field received 4 new drilling rigs produced in Russia.

Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha continues to increase production capacities as a part of the second stage of project development. The last joint in the linear part of the pressure piping from Srednebotuobinskoye field was welded. This 168 km long pipeline will connect the field to the trunk transit system East Siberia – Pacific Ocean with a junction point near Lensk. Also the project provides for increase of production up to 5 mmt annually, to expand the existing central oil station and commissioning station with  tank farm of 70 thousand m3.

Notes for Editors:

Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha develops Central block and Kurunga licensed block of the Srednebotuobinskoye oil and gas condensate field, located in the Sakha Republic, Yakutia.

The Srednebotuobinskoye oil and gas condensate field is one of three largest Rosneft’s assets in East Siberia oil cluster.

As of 01.01.2017, АВ1С1+В2С2 recoverable reserves of the field total 162 mmt of oil and condensate and 182 bcm of gas.

In October 2016, Rosneft finished the establishment of an international consortium on the basis of Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha. The consortium of Indian companies, including Oil India Limited (leads the consortium), Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Bharat PetroResources Limited closed the purchase of 29.9% in Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha. Following the results of the deal, the consortium joined joint mining project of Rosneft and BP in East Siberia. Rosneft kept the operational control (50.1%) over Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha.

Attracting strategic investors allows to give a futher impetus to the project on developing one of the largest oil and gas condensate field in Eastern Siberia – the Srednebotuobinskoye, currently producing about 22 thousand barrels of oil per day. Under the joint project, the partners plan to create infrastructure for further prospecting and development of the region’s reserves.
