Rosneft Delivers 40 Billion m3 of Commercial-Grade Gas from Vankor Cluster to Customers

09 March 2022

Rosneft has shipped 40 billion m3 of commercial-grade gas to Russia’s Unified Gas Supply System (UGSS) from the Vankor fields group located in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. One of the most powerful modern gas collecting, treatment and transportation systems was created to minimise the carbon footprint, raising the level of associated petroleum gas (APG) utilisation at Vankor to the industry’s highest level of 99.8%.

Most of the APG is sent to gas treatment and compression facilities to be upgraded to commercial quality. The gas programme includes advanced low- and high-pressure compressor stations, gas treatment units, in-field and gas trunk pipelines. The gas infrastructure facilities are equipped with systems of automated control and monitoring of production processes, with an environmental impact reduced to almost zero.

The 108 km Vankor—Khalmerpayutinskoye field trunk pipeline, which delivers gas to large industrial consumers in the Urals and Volga Federal Districts under long-term contracts, is used for gas transportation.

Another part of the gas is used for in-house production needs, such as gas turbine units of power complexes with a total capacity of 110 MW at the Tagulskoye, Suzunskoye and Lodochnoye fields. The energy complexes supply power to production areas.

Associated gas is also used as fuel for the 200 MW Vankor gas turbine power plant (GTPP), which generates electricity and heat for the field’s operating facilities. A 150 MW Polyarnaya GTPP, currently under construction, will power new facilities in the cluster.

Note for Editors:

RN-Vankor, a Rosneft’s subsidiary, is a development operator of the Vankor cluster including Vankorskoye, Suzunskoye, Tagulskoye and Lodochnoye fields in Eastern Siberia.

Commercial development of the Vankor field started in August 2009.
